Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, former Vice President of the World Bank for Africa Region, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Fundaço Dom Cabral to help the organization achieve its goals. The Brazilian business school is ranked as the world's ninth finest.
As the newest member of the FDC board, Ezekwesili is an expert in economic policy.
According to a statement released by the top Brazilian school, Marco Stefanini, the founder and Global Chief Executive Officer of Stefanini, and Rubens Menin, the Founder/Board Chairman of MRV Engenharia, were also welcomed to the FDC board.
According to the announcement, these three new councillors will help the institution fulfill its purpose of building society via education.
"Fundação Dom Cabral is honoured to announce the election of Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili as a member of its BoT, its highest decision-making body.
"The FDC is a Brazilian business school, whose mission is to contribute to the development of society through the training and development of executives, entrepreneurs and public managers," Ezekwesili’s Spokesperson, Mr. Ozioma Ubabukoh, stated.
According to the Financial Times, FDC is the world's ninth top business school.
Through the FDC – Centro Social Cardeal Dom Serafim, FDC provides training to low-income enterprises, social organizations and their management, and young people in difficult situations, as well as awarding scholarships to needy university students. Ubabukoh went on to say.
Prof Emerson de Almeida, co-founder and President of the FDC Board Committee, remarked, "Dr. Oby's appointment to the BoT will provide her with a remarkable worldwide and humanistic outlook."
The Dean of FDC, Antonio Batista, added that, “Ezekwesili will contribute with important viewpoints and help FDC consolidate its objectives.”
On the African continent and in addition to cooperating with the University of Cape Town in South Africa, FDC is developing PAEX in Mozambique.
“PAEX is an educational solution that creates a network to support the professionalisation of companies, transferring knowledge and promoting greater competitiveness and sustainable growth,” Ubabukoh added.
Ezekwesili also recently joined Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs as a senior fellow.
