Blood in the Snow 2026 Unveils 61-Film Lineup for Toronto Horror Festival

Toronto's home for Canadian genre cinema has revealed its 2026 slate. Indie Shorts Mag reports that Blood in the Snow has unveiled its lineup, bringing 61 films — including 11 world premieres — to the Isabel Bader Theatre from November 16 to 21 for the festival's 15th annual edition.

The newly announced selection is built around four dedicated short-film programmes screening at 7 p.m., per Indie Shorts Mag: Dark Visions (ten horror shorts, November 16), Monsters & Martians (nine science-fiction shorts, November 17), Bloody Spirits of Winter (eight Indigenous, Métis and Inuit shorts, November 18) and Funny Frights & Unusual Sights (twelve shorts, November 19). A web-series showcase, BITS and BYTES, follows on November 21, with ASL interpretation and open captions offered for select screenings.

According to the festival's official site, the 2026 edition spans 13 screenings alongside the Deadly Exposure Industry Conference, the Horror Development Lab and nightly after-parties at the Tranzac Club. The festival is a Canadian Screen Award qualifying event consistently ranked among the top 100 reviewed festivals in the world on FilmFreeway.

Single screening tickets went on sale October 20, with festival passes already available. Horror Development Lab participants are still to be announced — the next development for industry watchers to track.

Now in its 15th year, Blood in the Snow has grown from a scrappy showcase into a cornerstone of the Canadian genre calendar — a Canadian Screen Award qualifying festival that programmers and distributors watch closely. The 2026 edition pairs its public screenings with a full industry spine: the Deadly Exposure conference, the Horror Development Lab and nightly mixers at the Tranzac Club. For emerging Canadian horror, sci-fi and thriller filmmakers, there remains no better shop window in the country.
