Bradford City reached the Carabao Cup quarter-finals for the first time since their run to the final in 2013, beating fellow League One side Peterborough United 2-0 at Valley Parade on Tuesday night, 27 October 2026, according to the Press Association.
According to the Press Association, Macaulay Gillesphey gave Bradford the lead on 13 minutes, turning in Callum Connolly's set-piece, after manager Michael Duff had called for his side to be more productive from corners. Peterborough goalkeeper Alex Bass denied Bobby Pointon and Ibou Touray as Bradford pushed for a second before half-time.
Peterborough came out strongly after the break, according to the Press Association. Jon McCracken saved from Owura Edwards and denied Vernon Masara one-on-one, and Ethan Williams hit the bar, before substitute Adam Phillips settled the tie on 67 minutes, smashing a deflected finish past Bass after earlier missing two one-on-one chances.
According to Bradford's club coverage, manager Michael Duff praised his side for creating far more chances in the second half, calling it their highest expected-goals total of the season, and thanked the 13,642 home supporters who turned out on a Tuesday night in half term.
What happens next: Bradford join the quarter-final lineup, with the draw to follow after the remaining fourth-round ties, including Liverpool against Chelsea on Wednesday night. Peterborough, whose report confirmed the 2-0 scoreline and a 14,732 attendance, turn their attention back to the league.
