Couples who do not need to travel immediately after the wedding can gain by moving the trip a few months, when crowds thin and they may have places more to themselves, according to Travelweek's look at honeymoon trends for 2027.
Wellness gets an upgrade on the modern honeymoon, according to the report. A couples massage is one option, but a honeymoon designed around actually feeling rested when you get home is the larger trend.
Hilton's newly released 2027 Trends Report, based on a global survey of more than 14,000 travellers, found that nearly two-thirds actively seek experiences that calm the body and reset the nervous system, according to the report.
Seventy-six percent said travel allows them to recharge mentally and physically in ways they cannot easily achieve at home, according to the report.
That could translate into a wellness-focused honeymoon in a destination such as Bali, Thailand or the Maldives, with private villas, couples' treatments, yoga, healthy cuisine and plenty of time with nothing scheduled, according to the report.
