In one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year, actor Tobey Maguire took on an extraordinary role at his ex-wife's wedding: he officiated the ceremony himself. According to People magazine, Maguire presided over the marriage of jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer to music executive Geoffrey Ogunlesi at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii on October 10, just weeks after his own divorce from Meyer was legally finalized.
The former couple were declared legally single on September 21, nearly a decade after announcing their separation in 2016, the Daily Mail reports. Rather than keeping their distance, the two have built what Meyer has described as a genuine friendship rooted in co-parenting their two children, Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17. Both teenagers attended the Hawaiian ceremony alongside Meyer's infant daughter with Ogunlesi, making it a true blended-family celebration.
The guest list read like a Hollywood power gathering. People reports that Leonardo DiCaprio attended with his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, alongside Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, Courteney Cox, Kate Hudson and stylist Rachel Zoe. Meyer wore a strapless white gown with a long veil while Ogunlesi chose a classic black tuxedo, exchanging vows beneath a floral canopy overlooking the ocean.
Meyer and Ogunlesi were first linked in 2023 and announced their engagement in August 2024. The couple welcomed a baby daughter earlier this year. Ogunlesi is the founder and CEO of the Ogunlesi Group, an entertainment and music management company, and the son of Nigerian billionaire businessman Adebayo Ogunlesi. Meyer has previously spoken about the warm dynamic between the three adults, telling interviewers in December 2025 that Maguire and her then-fiancé genuinely love each other.
For Maguire, best known as Spider-Man in Sam Raimi's trilogy, the day marked an unusual but touching milestone: standing at the altar not as a groom, but as the man marrying his former wife to her new husband. On the World's First podcast, Meyer once said the pair chose to 'stay on track to stay a family' for their children, and the Hawaiian ceremony offered the most vivid proof yet of that philosophy in action.
