Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile and his longtime partner, Davita Lamai, have celebrated their traditional wedding in Lagos. According to Ghanamma, the ceremony took place in Oniru, Lagos, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, and was tagged #DTTheUnion on social media.
The couple marked the day with two traditional looks honouring both of their heritages. According to QNC News, they first appeared in Benin-inspired attire rich with coral beads, with Davita in a deep red beaded gown and Zlatan in a white traditional outfit finished with red bead fringe. For their second look, they changed into coordinated pastel Yoruba outfits, which Zlatan captioned "MR & MRS OMONIYI" — a light green agbada for him and a pale yellow skirt-and-blouse set for her.
The guest list gave the celebration its star power. According to Africentra, Afrobeats singer Davido, one of Zlatan's closest friends, served as one of the groomsmen, alongside appearances from Fuji musician K1 De Ultimate, comedians Broda Shaggi and Cute Abiola, and influencers Enioluwa Adeoluwa and Berri Tiga. According to Ghanamma, videos from the ceremony showed Davido joining Zlatan and the other groomsmen in the traditional prostration before the bride's parents, a gesture of respect that quickly became a talking point online.
The wedding follows a relationship the couple have largely kept private. According to Ghanamma, they have two sons together and reportedly held a private civil wedding before the traditional ceremony. In a teaser for their wedding documentary, Davita recalled that Zlatan was too shy to ask for her phone number when they first met, and instead asked someone else to get it for him — a quieter beginning for a rapper known for his high-energy stage presence.
What comes next is married life rather than another ceremony: the traditional wedding was the public celebration of a union the couple had already begun building as a family. Zlatan shared photographs from the occasion on Instagram with the caption "IT'S TIME TO MARRY," and fans and fellow entertainers filled the posts with congratulations.
