If Nigeria breaks up, we would all lose, says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Nigerians, according to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, will be disadvantaged if the country splits up.

He announced this on Monday, when he received the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) national leadership at the presidential palace in Abuja. According to a statement released by his spokesperson, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo stated that the country needs to spread the message of togetherness and asked media to conduct themselves professionally.

“Whether we are journalists, legislators, or religious leaders, this country is ours. The country is ours, and we must do all possible to keep it safe, secure, and united, which is critical.

It is critical that we continue to emphasize the importance of this country's unity, because if this country disintegrates in any manner or becomes the topic of what certain individuals want it to be, we will all suffer. The elite will undoubtedly survive in some form or another, but the great bulk of our people will not.
