Country music star Billy Ray Cyrus and British actress Elizabeth Hurley are engaged after more than a year together, according to multiple reports. Page Six first reported on October 16 that Cyrus, 65, had proposed to Hurley, 61, with sources confirming the news to the outlet — and TMZ and other outlets have since reported the same.
The engagement speculation began earlier in the week when Hurley shared behind-the-scenes photographs from the set of the second season of Peacock's The 'Burbs, in which a large diamond ring was clearly visible on her left ring finger. One source dismissed the idea that the ring was merely a costume prop, telling Page Six: "She's filming 'The 'Burbs'; I hardly think this ring is a prop." Cyrus added fuel to the rumors days later with an Instagram post promoting his music that ended with the line, "Kinda has a ring to it," accompanied by a diamond ring emoji. Hurley's 24-year-old son, Damian, appeared to confirm the happy news by reacting to Cyrus's post with a celebratory emoji.
The pair's romance has been one of Hollywood's most unexpected pairings. They first met in 2022 while filming the holiday movie Christmas in Paradise and reconnected in early 2025, going public with their relationship on Easter Sunday of that year. They made their red-carpet debut as a couple in Rome that May. Hurley has acknowledged that fans were surprised by the match, telling Page Six last year that people found the pairing "a little surprising," but adding that they are "actually like twins" who both love laughing and country life.
