Khloé Kardashian has shut down the long-running rumour that she is dating Scott Disick, telling listeners on her podcast that he is like a brother to her and that a romance between them is not going to happen. According to Tyla, Kardashian addressed the speculation on the October 22 episode of her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, saying she had sent Disick a message asking whether he knew people thought they were dating again. She said he was just as puzzled, asking where the idea had come from, and that the clips circulating online were old material rather than evidence of a new relationship. The reason, she explained, is family. Disick is the former partner of her older sister Kourtney Kardashian and the father of Kourtney's three children, Mason, Penelope and Reign. According to OK Magazine, Kardashian put it plainly on the podcast: "One, he's the father of my two nephews and niece," joking that he would otherwise be both a stepfather and an uncle to her own children. "It's not going to happen here," she said. Her second point was just as firm. According to Tyla, she described Disick as "my real legit brother" and called the idea of dating him weird. She also said she thought listeners would recognise that a scene in the trailer for the latest season of The Kardashians, in which the pair joked about having a baby together, was edited for effect, adding: "I thought people would know that, obviously, it's editing, but no, we're not a couple." The denial fits a wider point Kardashian made on the same episode, according to reports of the podcast: she is content with her life as it is and is not looking for a relationship simply to satisfy public expectations. The pair have been close friends for years, and she said they now laugh off the recurring speculation, having previously played along with it in public when Kourtney was right there with them. For readers, the story is a reminder of how easily old clips and edited trailers can restart a rumour. Kardashian's own answer leaves little room for doubt: the friendship is real, the family ties are real, and the romance, she says, is not.
