Paramount+ head of originals Jane Wiseman is leaving the streamer, as HBO leadership takes over the combined originals operation following the Skydance merger. The change was announced in a staff memo from Casey Bloys on October 23, 2026.
According to Deadline, reported by TVNewsCheck, Wiseman's team will now report to HBO Max's Sarah Aubrey. Bloys, who has long overseen HBO and HBO Max, is now running the combined direct-to-consumer content operation, bringing several senior HBO executives with him into expanded roles.
Wiseman joined Paramount+ in August 2025 after Skydance's acquisition. According to TheWrap, during her tenure she oversaw 28 new series pickups and 16 renewals, as well as the integration of BET+ into the streaming service. Her slate included series such as Landman, MobLand, The Madison, Dexter and Dutton Ranch, and she worked in partnership with former direct-to-consumer chief Cindy Holland, who also recently left the company.
Before joining Paramount+, Wiseman was head of U.S. television at Sister and an early executive hire at Netflix, where she helped expand its original programming. According to TheWrap, Bloys praised her work in his memo, saying she had done amazing work at Paramount+ and had graciously offered to help with the transition.
The departure is part of a wider reshuffle at the merged company. Bloys told staff that HBO must continue its tradition of television excellence, while HBO Max and Paramount+ should each carry their momentum forward until the two services are ready to be brought together, with clearly defined responsibilities so the creative community knows where programming resides.
For subscribers, there is no immediate change to how they access either service, and the unification of the streaming apps into a single product has not yet been scheduled. The longer-term question is how the combined leadership shapes future originals, with development now filtered through the established HBO executive team.
