Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl has logged a 15th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 87,000 equivalent album units, according to Billboard's latest chart report dated October 24. The tally gives Swift 101 total career weeks atop the album chart, a figure no other artist has approached.
As Musictimes notes in its Chart Watch analysis, the album has now accumulated roughly 7.2 million units since its release. This week's total held firm even as its streaming velocity declined, thanks to a loyal buying audience that continues to purchase physical editions, variants and store exclusives while other chart-toppers run on playlist momentum alone.
The week's top 10 also underlines Republic Records' remarkable dominance. According to Billboard's chart report, Republic and its affiliated labels hold eight of the top 10 positions, including Swift at No. 1, Morgan Wallen at No. 3, both Noah Kahan albums, both Drake albums, Olivia Dean and Greta Van Fleet. Only Olivia Rodrigo at No. 2 on Geffen and Ella Langley at No. 4 on Columbia break through from outside the Republic umbrella.
Looking ahead, Musictimes flags Yung Miami's WATCH DIS, arriving October 23 with features from Quavo, Lil Baby, Kodak Black, G Herbo, Shenseea and Vybz Kartel, as the most likely disruption to a top 10 that has barely moved in weeks.
The Republic dominance is genuinely historic. As Musictimes notes, the label family first claimed eight of the top 10 back in January 2024, a modern-era record at the time, and this week's repeat shows it was no fluke. Whether it reflects Republic's roster depth, the advantages of Universal Music Group's distribution infrastructure, or simply a quiet release window for competing labels is an open question. What is clear is that in a top 10 this static, the label's grip on the chart is as much the story as any individual album, with Swift's sales-driven staying power doing the heaviest lifting of all.
