The Flaming Lips have announced The Teardrop Throbs, their first album in more than six years and their label debut with Third Man Records, according to NYS Music.
Arriving January 22, 2027, the record marks the 17th studio album for the three-time Grammy Award winning band, according to the report.
The band pair the announcement with the release of the album's first single, God Will Control The Werewolves, according to the report.
Frontman Wayne Coyne said the single grew out of a nighttime game of hide and seek with his two sons, according to the report.
To celebrate the release, the band will embark on an intimate series of two-night shows across the United States and the United Kingdom, including two nights at Irving Plaza in New York City on January 26 and 27, according to the report. Pre-sale begins October 28, with general sale on October 30.
