United States President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would respect the results of the 3 November midterm elections if they are honest, according to reports of his remarks at Joint Base Andrews before a campaign trip to Texas.

According to The Hill, as reported by NewsCord, Trump was asked whether he would respect the midterm results and said he would do so if the elections were honest. He said that if Republicans lost control of the House and Senate, he would find a way to work with Democrats, citing his veto power.

The remarks came a day after Trump offered a $1 million reward for information about voter fraud that leads to convictions, according to reports. The White House did not immediately say where the reward funds would come from, according to one report of the announcement.

According to NPR's morning brief on 28 October, Trump has been crisscrossing the country with closing messages as the midterms approach. In one post on Wednesday, he urged Kansas Republicans to vote early in every race, noting that early in-person voting in Kansas runs through 2 November.

The midterms will determine which party controls Congress, and a Democratic victory could limit Trump's power in the second half of his term, according to reports. More than 33 million ballots had already been cast early, in person or by mail, according to one report on 28 October.
