Five additional people have died as a result of COVID-19 problems, bringing the total number of new cases in Nigeria to 559 on Wednesday.
In a late Wednesday update on its Facebook page, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the infections.
According to the NCDC, 2,578 people have died as a result of the disease's consequences.
Infections were verified in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday (FCT).
Lagos, Nigeria's COVID-19 epicenter, had the most instances for the day – 232 – followed by Rivers State, which had 83 infected people.
Kwara has 18, Ekiti has 13, Bayelsa has 9, Cross River has 9, Ogun has 6, Kano has three, and Gombe has two new cases.
Enugu has 66 sick patients, Oyo has 28, Kaduna has 25, the Federal Capital Territory has 24, Delta has 22 and Akwa Ibom has 19.
