Couples eyeing Grand Cayman for a honeymoon or anniversary trip face a shifting opening date for the island's most anticipated new resort. According to Travelers Today, the Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort and Spa, the island's largest full-service resort with 382 rooms and suites on Seven Mile Beach, was set to open November 28, 2026, at the start of Caribbean peak season.
However, a November 2 update from La Revue des Hotels reports that the November 28 opening no longer stands: the resort's official website now only accepts bookings for stays from December 10, 2026, with Hyatt announcing an opening in the fourth quarter of 2026 without a fixed inauguration date.
According to Travelers Today, the property sits at the southern end of Seven Mile Beach, about ten minutes from Owen Roberts International Airport, with a 9,000-square-foot destination spa, 900 feet of beachfront and five dining venues. It is classified as a World of Hyatt Category 8 property, with an 85-dollar nightly resort fee, and it is not all-inclusive.
The resort is one of three new Grand Hyatt properties opening in the Caribbean and Mexico before the end of 2026, alongside the Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort and the Grand Hyatt Los Cabos Resort, Golf and Spa, which is targeting December 2026.
For couples planning a winter honeymoon, the practical advice is to confirm the booking window directly with Hyatt before committing, since opening-week availability and dates are still moving.
